PATEK PHILIPPE CHRONOGRAPHS: NEW CLASSICS

Virtuosity at the service of precision.

Since its foundation, this Genevan manufacture has showed its mastery when it comes to combining traditional watchmaking techniques with the most advanced technologies. This allows us to admire the craftsmanship put into the watch complications they use in their designs, which turn measuring time into a unique experience. Patek Philippe’s chronograph, one of their most prominent complications, grants everlasting value to the pieces that have it, creating unforgettable watches that become cult items.
It was in 1941 when the watchmaking house begins line production for their wristwatches combining the chronograph with the perpetual calendar. Designed, developed and manufactured completely at their workshop in Geneva, the Grand Complications timepieces are among the most coveted. Their precision and reliability place value the really high quality of these perfect and exceptional chronographs.

A modern vintage style

We begin our selection with a classic that reinvents itself to meet the demands of the most discerning horology devotees. We speak of the CH 29-535 PS calibre, the first manual-winding chronograph with a horizontal clutch fully developed by the manufacture by hand, with a total of 6 exclusive patents. Its chronograph movement, with a classic architecture presented in 2009, is the perfect combination of tradition and innovation: the teeth on the wheels of its horizontal clutch system are perfected with new patented profiles and it features new parts with extra-precise adjustment.
The classic chronograph for man, reference number 5172G once again draws inspiration from the watchmaker’s past, reinventing the iconic models from the 1940s and 1959s. The manual-winding timepiece includes a white gold case with hand-made Guilloched pushers, and a sapphire crystal case back. The watch highlights its vintage look with a golden opaline dial in rose gold with a tachymeter scale and numbers in gold treated with anthracite, beneath which there is a traditional movement architecture protected by six patented innovations, such as optimised toothing profile, precision adjustment of engagement depth and self-regulating zero-resetting hammers. Its aesthetic and its meticulous finishes turn this timepiece into a coveted show of fine watchmaking mechanics.
The Patek Philippe chronograph has always played a prominent role, but it is sometimes accompanied by other equally virtuosic displays, as we admire in the 5961R model. This rose gold-cased timepiece features a black ebony opaline dial with a bezel set with 36 baguette-cut diamonds. This spectacular design with a Flyback chronograph is coupled with an annual calendar that combines engineering and elegance in a spectacular fashion.

Grand complications of this watchmaking manufacture

The mastery of this watchmaking house is clear when looking at their range of complications. The rose gold chronograph with a perpetual calendar for men, for its part, sports a “Goutte-style” gold bracelet that blends in completely. The piece has a legible and balanced dial within its ebony black sunburst dial. It is through these grand complications that we see the watchmaking experience garnered by the brand, granting each timepiece with a priceless and perpetual value.
At Relojería Alemana, official distributor for this brand in our shops in Mallorca, we will be delighted to show you Patek Philippe’s chronograph watches, as well as the rest of their iconic timepieces. Come see us and discover the new classics.
