The 52 Super Series Sailing Week returns to Palma with a spectacular third event, after its episodes in Baiona and Cascais. It is the seventh time that the race takes place in Puerto Portals, an exceptional setting that becomes one
of the circuit’s key venues.
Sponsored by Rolex, the 52 Super Series had many reasons to celebrate: its tenth anniversary, its return to the Bay of Palma and the nine ships under six different national flags that were to take part in the regatta.
Their purpose? To claim victory and stand out on the circuit’s provisional podium.
Five days of excitement and surprises in Puerto Portals
After Sled’s spectacular start under the US flag, the South African Phoenix claimed victory on a last day of capricious winds from the northeast that demanded great concentration and control from the teams. Under the marked
uncertainty due to the high temperatures brought by the heatwave, the start of the last day’s race had to be moved forward by two hours, trying the attendees’ patience.
